Both my students and visitors have found many of these ideas on art helpful and have requested that I continue to develop them. Therefor during my rewrite - which will take many months - I have included links to my original writings and my new writings. Introductory Remarks: Visual art is a language which may be used as any language is used. For example modern english is a very sophisticated language that can be used to express immense subtly of thought and feeling or structured such that the reader's information is narrowed to encourrage a particular point of view. Some people in order not to be fooled by the Linguistics studies the structure of language. Visual art is no different in its ability to express immense subtly of thought and feeling or narrowed to encourrage a particular point of view. I will restrict myself to exploring the language of easel painting (drawing and painting on a flat surface) under the concept of aesthetics which is the visual equivalent of linguistics.
